Barstow Community College Food Pantry

Barstow Community College is committed to fighting hunger and food insecurity on campus. Special Programs and Services has opened up a Food Pantry for all students in order to address this need for our students. The Food Pantry provides students with a variety of fresh, frozen, and non-perishable food items on a daily basis. In addition, the Food Pantry provides fresh fruits and vegetables at our weekly Produce Market.

MAIN CAMPUS

  • The Food Pantry is located in Special Programs and Services (K Building) and is available to Barstow Community College students Monday-Thursday from 8:00-6:00|Fridays 8:00-12:00  for breakfast, lunch, and snack items as well as weekly pantry and hygiene items. 
  • Produce Market is offered on alternating Thursdays, from 10:00-4:00 in Special Programs & Services (K Building).

FORT IRWIN CAMPUS

  • Our Fort Irwin campus also provides a food pantry in Building 285 everyday for breakfast, lunch and snack items as well as weekly pantry and hygiene items.
  • Produce Market is offered on alternating Tuesdays, from 10:00-4:00 in Room B5.

WIC is a federally-funded health and nutrition program for women, infants, and children. WIC helps families by providing nutrition education, issuing EBT cards for healthy supplemental foods, and making referrals to healthcare and other community services.

Huerta De Valle Community Garden

The Huerta del Valle community garden currently has 62 family plots. The plots are 20' x 10' and are rented for one year. Huerta del Valle provides seeds, small plants when available, tools, water, and compost for the plots. This is an organic community garden. All produce you grow is yours to consume or share as you please.

Gardeners enjoy a 365 day growing year and the support of experienced gardeners to help them succeed in producing a lot of food. The garden costs $35 for the year to rent and can be paid in installments.
