MUSI 3 Music Appreciation - American Music 

  • The survey of American music from the American Revolution to the present. It will cover presentation, history, and analysis of traditional, country, blues, rock, jazz, musical theatre, classical, and commercially popular music. It will include examination of historical and sociological influences on the music.

TART 4A - 4D Broadway Voice

  • This course series focuses on the study of efficient vocal production and performance. Exercises for breath management, extending the vocal range, increasing vocal resonance and volume, and singing in an expressive manner will be employed through the study of different musical genres within musical theatre literature.

TART 13A - 13B Musical Theatre Production

  • This course series provides instruction and supervised participation in the rehearsal and performance of a musical. This class provides an opportunity for students to perform in a Barstow Community College musical production as a member of the cast and/or crew. It includes applied study and the practice of script analysis, acting techniques, singing, choreography, and other performance skills. All actors are required to audition for roles.
